Louis Armstrong is amazing.I used to think old music was lame but now that I hear more and more of it,I understand why people love it.Jazz lifts the spirit and adds a spark of joy in life. Armstrong's songs make all the trouble seem so small.

Louis Armstrong music biography continued...

Armstrong took any job he could get his hands on. He started playing the cornet at 7 years old and later performed with bands in small clubs.

In 1922, Armstrong moved to Chicago to play in Joe Oliver's band where he played his cornet and stunned many with his skillful playing. He was also wanted in New York City in 1924 to play in Fletcher Henderson's band. Soon after, he returned to Chicago and began recording a long line of records including Potato Head Blues and I'm a Ding Dong Daddy. He was a true trendsetter in the world of jazz and awed everyone with his new techniques and rich improvisations.

Louis Armstrong is responsible for shaking up the world of jazz and urging musicians to defy the set norms of the genre and explore their options. He still is well respected and his contributions to the world of jazz shall never be forgotten.
