The last new feature to point out is gapless playback for songs meant to run into each other, this way the next time your listening to techno you don't have 2 seconds of silence between bass thumps.

Design

Like the old iPod Classic, the new one seems pretty indestructible. The totally sealed case is hard to tamper with and keeps your music safe. The layout itself is exactly the same as the older classic but its sleeker this time, which makes it much nicer to slide into your pocket.

Audio Quality

With an audio range of 20hz - 20,000hz you can hear anything with great quality. The equalizer lacks a little, a bit to simple for its own good, but regardless it still gets the job done. It would be nice if the EQ had more bands and could be balanced or faded.

Interface

The interface on the classic is redesigned, giving it a sleek new look in the menu's. Album art shows on the right and changes as you scroll, giving you a very pleasant visual accompaniment to the music.

Performance

The iPod Classic has the best battery life of any MP3 player in the iPod family. This is primarily because its bigger so it can house a larger battery, and it is a very nice feature. The iPod Classic also operates almost flawlessly on a day to day basis, almost never freezing up.
