Sounding similar to some of the songs on Minutes to Midnight, Linkin Park’s New Divide mp3 is the band’s way of tiding fans over until their next album. This tune is the theme to the blockbuster Transformers movie, but it doesn’t diverge from previous material, even owing a debt to “What I’ve Done.” Sometimes it sounds like just a continuation of that song, except it has more electronic touches. Lyrically the tune is about the space between truth and lies, hence a new divide. While it’s not the most original of themes, for some reason the song grows on you. Hopefully, the band will have more original material to offer on their next studio album because it would be awful to think that they are officially out of ideas. How could that be?
