Mott Album Review
In the Mott album, Mott the Hoople pulls it all together to show why they were one of the best rock bands of the early 70s. This very literate album oozes the disillusionment that the band was probably feeling as various members left to pursue careers in other bands. Mott had a talent for encapsulating a certain lost splendor and sadness that was very British. It couldn't have been lost on them how Mott's fortunes mirrored those of England at large. However, when the mood seized them, they could rock with sheer abandon. "All The Way From Memphis", "Honaloochie Boogie" and "Whizz Kid" are the blasting, powerful proof.
