Grateful Dead - American Beauty Album

With its concise, country-rooted gems, the American Beauty album may be the Dead's very best studio work. "Box of Rain," "Friend of the Devil," "Sugar Magnolia," "Ripple", and "Truckin' in particular represent some of the Grateful Dead's most infectious music. This album is a snapshot of the Dead during a wonderful moment in their creativity, both musically and lyrically, at a time when the hippie dream started to crash and things were changing for Jerry both personally and socially. I dare even those who are not true Dead Heads to take a listen to this album and not come away with anything less than true awe for their musicianship.
